Hot Springs Canyon is one of the many canyons that the Rio Grande River passes though on its way to the Gulf of Mexico. This particular canyon is named for the natural hot spring that is located just upstream from this point. In the background are the Sierra del Carmen Mountains which are located in northern Mexico.
