California Riding and Hiking Trail

California Riding and Hiking Trail

At slightly more then 37 miles in length, the California Riding and Hiking Trail is the longest maintained trail in Joshua Tree National Park. Crossing remote wilderness areas that few visitors see, the trail starts in mountainous pinyon-juniper woodlands located in the western portion of the park, crosses expansive Joshua Tree flats in the middle and then enters the lower elevation of the Majave Desert in the east side of the park.
